You know the day.
Pool. Camp. Birthday party. Cousins. Playground.
They had the BEST time.
And then you get in the car and well... you probably know how it goes. And as grown-ups, this can feel baffling. Like "If you loved it that much, why are we now crying because I handed you the wrong water bottle?"
But fun can still take a lot of work.
Noise. Heat. Wet clothes. Other kids. Waiting. Negotiating. Novelty. Excitement. Following directions. Leaving before you were ready.
A kid can enjoy all of that.
Their brain and body still had to process it.
Sometimes, the meltdown after the fun thing is the first moment the system has enough space to show you what the day cost.
Enjoyment and effort can coexist.
